About the Role

This position will join an established, mature project that has been active for approximately 18 months and is entering its final phase with several remaining releases to be delivered. The primary responsibility is ensuring successful execution of the final releases and driving the project to completion, providing continuity as the current project manager transitions to another strategic initiative.

The target project timeline runs through August of the following year, with a high likelihood of extension into an ongoing maintenance phase for additional scope items. Leadership has expressed interest in maintaining project management oversight during post-delivery work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project management for department initiatives across all phases: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/control, and closeout.
  • Serve as Agile/ScrumMaster, facilitating ceremonies and progress using Scrum, Kanban, or Waterfall as appropriate.
  • Oversee analytical and IT product development, ensuring risk mitigation and proper documentation.
  • Develop and improve PMO standards, tools, processes, and governance; manage related financial and operational activities.
  • Manage and monitor project budgets and prepare financial forecasts.
  • Communicate proactively with project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Facilitate meetings and present project status and outcomes clearly.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing large-scale projects from feasibility to deployment.
  • 3+ years leading analytical software development teams with a strong understanding of SDLC.
  • Leadership experience in complex, AI-enabled data projects within hybrid delivery environments.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Planner, Smartsheet, Jira, GitLab).
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive consensus, and mentor others.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or analytical field (or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree with 3+ years' experience.
  • PMP or Certified ScrumMaster certification.
  • Consulting experience and knowledge of Disney business processes.
  • Familiarity with the travel/hospitality industry and analytics in statistics, engineering, marketing, sales, or revenue management.

Practical experience, delivery capability, and interpersonal effectiveness are prioritized over formal certifications.
