Program Manager

About the role
The Program Manager (PM) leads the operations, planning, and execution of strategic priorities to service ATLAS client commitments in an organized, disciplined, and predictable fashion. This role requires strong leadership and program management skills, with experience in managing US Government contracts as a plus. The PM serves as the senior link between ATLAS and stakeholders, responsible for requirements identification, project integration, and management of program schedule, cost, and risk. This position requires an understanding of satellite ground network operations and the technical requirements of supported spacecraft and launch vehicles. The PM also supports business development and sales activities by providing schedule and cost analysis associated with proposed technical solutions. The global nature of ATLAS operations often requires accommodating duty hours of customers and activities located in different time zones worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Ensure program and project execution are aligned with overall business strategy
- Identify and manage project requirements across integration and operations
- Track program schedule, cost, and integration progress using appropriate tools and techniques, including the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) and Google Workspace
- Manage contract deliverables while identifying and mitigating risks
- Identify challenges and support cross-functional team managers to create solutions and ensure program success
- Serve as the primary interface to assigned customers, representing the entire program team and ATLAS as a whole
- Monitor and manage quality of service for assigned customers
- Manage competing priorities across a diverse portfolio of programs, each at a different stage of its lifecycle, in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Lead and attend meetings, summarize discussions, identify follow-on actions, and create and disseminate reports
- Support proposal efforts and participate in ongoing business development
- Maintain and regularly update monthly revenue projections based on assigned customer accounts’ usage
- Prepare monthly customer invoices using ATLAS’s automated billing application, ensuring charges accurately reflect contracted services and usage, ahead of Finance issuing them to customers
- Meet monthly, or more frequently as needed, with the Finance team to review revenue forecasts and earned versus outstanding revenue for assigned accounts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in technical or business discipline and 3+ years related experience
- Understanding of space operations and related scientific principles including satellite communications
- Experience in managing executive customer relationships, with strong team building capabilities and solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience providing effective project oversight and resolving resource constraints/schedule conflicts
- Experience managing teams, resolving resource constraints/schedule conflicts, and providing effective project oversight
- Proficiency in planning, scheduling, risk management, requirements management, budget planning, and execution
- Comfort working with revenue projections, invoicing, and other account-level financial reporting
- Ability to travel (as required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Satellite operations or satellite ground network experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with Atlassian Products such as JIRA & Confluence
- Data analysis skills
- Possess or be eligible for a Top-Secret Clearance
Pay
$80,000 - $110,000
