Program Manager

We are seeking an Engineering Program Management Lead to oversee projects at a supplier site, focused on global foundries. This role requires a strong background in program management and experience working with suppliers, ideally within advanced manufacturing industries such as semiconductor, aerospace, or data centers.

About the role

This position is based in Malta, NY, with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. The role involves 60% program management and 40% technical tasks, primarily working with optics, photonics, and hardware in collaboration with the fabrication team. Travel up to 25% is required, including locations such as Minneapolis and Broomfield. The program size involves a multimillion-dollar effort.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and management of detailed schedules, budgets, resource needs, and work plans for technical deliverables on complex, multi-faceted hardware R&D programs.
• Organize and coordinate efforts across multiple technical and operational teams.
• Conduct regular status meetings, project reviews, and end-of-task retrospectives.
• Ensure timely and effective communication of strategy, scope changes, risks, and progress between technical teams, partners, product and program management, and leadership through reports, dashboards, and presentations.
• Identify opportunities to accelerate schedules or develop needed technologies.
• Travel up to 25% for business purposes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in technical program management.
• Experience in product development and supplier management.
• Proficiency with program management tools such as MS Project, SmartSheet, and Jira.
• Strong understanding of risk and opportunity analysis and management processes.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree minimum; Master’s degree in a STEM field is a plus.
• Background in quantum computing, optics and photonics, or experimental physics is advantageous.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
• Experience managing technology-based projects through the full life cycle.
• Prior experience with first-of-its-kind, early technology-based products or projects.
• Resourcefulness and ability to predict and address challenges proactively.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $164,000 - $205,000 per year.
