About the role
Lead the design, development, integration, and testing of space-based remote sensing systems, focusing on electro-optical and infrared payloads.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements traceability for mission payloads
- Develop and execute test plans for space optical systems
- Conduct technical analyses and manage system specifications
- Oversee design reviews and coordinate system performance to meet customer needs
- Lead hardware/software integration and verification
- Mitigate technical risks and ensure compliance with program requirements
- Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership
- Contribute to proposals and program planning
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 10+ years, or 16+ years of experience without a degree
- Active Secret security clearance
- Extensive experience in systems engineering, aerospace, or space payloads
- Proven track record in technical analysis and leading product verification efforts
Preferred Skills
- Experience with laser and focal plane subsystems
- Background in remote sensing and optical hardware
- Proficiency with project management tools like DOORS and MBSE software
- Knowledge of space system lifecycle and cost/schedule management
