Lead Program Financial Analyst

About the role

As a Lead Program Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in driving the financial success of our defense programs. You will partner closely with Program Managers to deliver accurate forecasts, ensure compliance with government financial requirements, and provide actionable insights that enhance profitability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC) forecasts for assigned programs.

  • Analyze cost performance, schedule impacts, and program variances to ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting.

  • Review and assess the financial implications of programmatic changes, milestone shifts, and contract modifications.

  • Develop and maintain accurate forecasts for unbilled receivables and deferred revenue balances, ensuring proper revenue recognition.

  • Provide in-depth analysis and recommendations to Program Management and senior leadership.

  • Prepare and present program financial performance, variance explanations, and risk assessments.

  • Support ad hoc analyses, including stop work notifications, contract terminations, or cost impact studies.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience as a Program Financial Analyst in the defense or aerospace industry.

  • Strong understanding of government financial regulations and compliance (FAR, DFARS, EVMS).

  • Proven ability to develop forecasts, manage large data sets, and perform detailed variance and cost analysis.

  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems such as Deltek Costpoint, SAP, or equivalent.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • A collaborative mindset and the confidence to present data-driven recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or PMP preferred.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.

  • Experience with financial modeling and forecasting tools.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Pay

$ 94,700.00 - $126,300.00 per year plus bonus
