Program Documentation Volunteer (Remote)

About the Role

This volunteer will work directly with the Founder and President of The Lovis Foundation and will have the unique opportunity to help shape the organization's future as it enters its second decade of impact. The Lovis Foundation exists to spread joy by recognizing kindness, creating inclusive experiences, and empowering communities to make a difference.

As we approach 10 years of spreading joy, we're taking an important step toward preserving the knowledge gained from our first decade. During this time, we've built national student recognition programs, inclusive community events, volunteer initiatives, storytelling projects, and organizational resources that have impacted thousands of children, families, educators, and communities across the country. This role focuses on documenting how our programs work to ensure they can continue to grow for years to come.

This isn't simply about creating procedures. It's about capturing the heart, purpose, and practical knowledge behind each program so future volunteers, board members, and staff can build on a strong foundation.

Responsibilities

• Interview the founder and key volunteers to understand how each program operates.
• Document annual timelines and planning calendars.
• Create organized Program Playbooks that include:
  • Checklists
  • Timelines
  • Templates
  • Communication guides
  • Vendor information
  • Best practices
  • Lessons learned
  • Frequently asked questions
• Organize existing documents into an easy-to-use knowledge library.
• Help identify opportunities to simplify and improve processes.
• Preserve not only the "how," but also the "why" behind each program.
