Program Overview

Pima Medical Institute seeks a Program Director who can combine their clinical expertise with educational leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop curriculum and guide faculty to ensure graduates are both board-ready and OR-ready.
  • Own accreditation compliance with CAAHEP/ABHES and set regional standards for excellence.
  • Mentor faculty and foster a culture of continuous improvement and instructional innovation.
  • Engage directly with students, retain them, troubleshoot issues, and coach them toward confident, skilled careers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a USDE-recognized, accredited institution.
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program (or recognized military training equivalent).
  • Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through an NCCA-accredited national certification program.
  • Current license, registration, or certification as required by local, state, or federal law.
  • 3+ years of operating room experience in the scrub role within the last 5 years, or 3+ years of teaching experience in the field of Surgical Technology.
  • Evidence of continued education and training in Education Methods, Surgical Technology standards, and credentialing and administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general computer literacy.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule
