Overview

Sentara is seeking an experienced Program Director to lead and develop an Emergency Medicine residency in Woodbridge, VA. This includes the 2023 ACGME application process for a 2026 program start. The position involves direct patient care, leadership, teaching, and administrative responsibilities.

Job Highlights

  • Develop the program curriculum.
  • Maintain current knowledge of national innovations in curriculum form and content.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, selection, instruction, supervision, counseling, evaluation, and advancement of residents.
  • Develop policies for the program and monitor overall compliance with these policies.
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure compliance with institutional and program-specific requirements as defined by the ACGME, CLER Evaluation Committee, and NRMP.
  • Serve as the primary graduate medical education (GME) leader for Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in partnership with Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Responsible for prudent management of the program’s financial resources.

Minimum Requirements

  • M.D or D.O., licensed to practice medicine in Virginia
  • 3 years of experience as a Core Faculty member in an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine program
