Physician - Emergency Medicine Associate Program Director

About the role

The Associate Program Director (APD) will support the development, ACGME accreditation, and implementation of a new Emergency Medicine Residency Program. They will assist in building a program grounded in clinical excellence, innovation, and community-focused care.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the preparation and submission of ACGME accreditation materials
• Participate in curriculum design, implementation, and continuous improvement
• Supervise, teach, and mentor residents in clinical and didactic settings
• Contribute to resident evaluation, feedback, and milestone assessment processes
• Ensure compliance with ACGME and institutional policies
• Engage in scholarly activity, quality improvement, and program innovation

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Maryland
• Board certification in Emergency Medicine by ABEM or AOBEM
• Demonstrated commitment to medical education and resident teaching
• Prior experience in graduate medical education (core faculty, assistant/associate program director, or similar role) preferred
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
• Interest in curriculum development, mentorship, and academic medicine
