Responsibilities
- Overall accountability for personnel and budgetary decisions pertaining to the operation of EMS bases assigned.
- Maintain consistent overall operation of the rotor-wing and fixed-wing bases (if applicable) that includes availability of appropriate medical equipment and supplies to deliver quality patient care.
- Ensure a safe operational environment.
- Work closely with Legal Department, Human Resources, Risk Management and Safety to manage and reduce risk and liability in all aspects of daily operations.
- Ensure that all pilot training, refresher training and FAA regulations for operations and maintenance are adhered to under FAR Part 135 regulations.
- Oversee all business/strategic planning, coordinating efforts, marketing for service lines (rotor-wing, fixed-wing and long-range jet operations).
- Ensure EMS PR/Outreach education, employee interactions with customers (internal and external) and referring and receiving physicians.
- Manage all contractual relationships with payers, state health departments, other governmental payers and vendors.
- Remain abreast of local, regional, state and national legislation and regulations which impact delivery of air medical transport issues through active participation in the appropriate local, regional, state and national organizations.
- Prepare and present marketing information to internal and external customers.
- Train internal resources for marketing presentations.
- Aid in the development and approval of marketing collateral materials, giveaway items, etc.
- Oversee the general oversight of proactive marketing plan for the program by utilizing internal and external resources.
- Respond to requests from external customers (i.e., assist companies, managed care companies, EMS related agencies, physicians, etc.) by composing appropriate correspondence, selecting collateral materials, preparing formal credential information.
- Respond to contract RFP's and present in-service sessions, marketing presentations, etc.
- Perform other duties as required.
Schedule/Location
Must reside in AL or MS
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- College Graduate or Equivalent Experience
- Five years management experience – preferably in air medical
- EMS related experience
- Good writing, speaking and interpersonal communication skills
- Leadership skills and the ability to relate to a subordinate staff by leading, coaching and developing their leadership potential
- Effective human relations skills are critical, as this position will work closely with physicians, national organizations, legislative representatives and all levels of staff
- Ability to pass a pre-placement drug test and background screen
