Program Director

About the role

Responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management and oversight of assigned programs. Coordinates and supervises with faculty and staff. Accountable for the fiscal management, administration, and coordination of programs.

What a Day Of a Program Director Looks Like

• Develops long-range goals, objectives, priorities, and recommendations.
• Makes sure various projects are effective and comply with regulations.
• Liaises with outside agencies or community leaders for programs and services.
• Communicates program information internally.
• Consults and advises within area of expertise.
• Advises students and faculty on departmental issues and requirements.
• Assists instructors with specific needs as requested.
• Responds to inquiries from all levels of employees or external sources.
• Participates in various meetings and committees.
• Promotes available student courses and programs.
• Guides, leads, reviews, verifies, observes, and manages the work of people reporting directly to you.
• Collaborates on coordinating the activities of one or more staff members.
• Assists in scheduling and administrative requirements.
• Analyzes and interprets data regularly available on programs and performance.

• Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Four years of related experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar applications
  • Skilled in delivering a high level of customer service
  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
  • Ability to implement and manage programs
  • Interacts in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
  • Organizes and prioritizes multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness
  • Effectively communicates verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, builds relationships, manages customer expectations, and takes responsibility for a high level of service

  Qualifications

  • Earned an industry-recognized credential in NCCER, or other trades-related credentials
