About the role

Healogics is the largest provider of advanced wound care services in the United States, treating more than 300,000 chronic wound patients annually across over 600 sites. The Program Director or Program Manager is responsible for the management and strategic growth of the Wound Care Program for the assigned area, overseeing day-to-day center operations, staff management, financial management, quality/performance improvement, and community education. This role maintains collaborative and consultative client relationships within and outside the hospital organization and fosters effective working relationships between Healogics and the hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Center’s Operations (20%)
    • Oversees day-to-day management of outpatient clinic(s) and other wound continuum programs.
    • Assesses clinic flows, processes, and procedures to identify areas of improvement and implement best practices.
    • Ensures availability of adequate resources, supplies, equipment, and services in collaboration with hospital and company personnel.
    • Facilitates information flow and maximizes effective communication throughout the program.
    • Prioritizes responsibilities and directs the work of clinical and non-clinical staff.
    • Collaborates with healthcare providers, Wound Care Center Providers, and Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs.
    • Manages direct reports, including interviewing, hiring, motivating, coaching, counseling, and conducting performance reviews in conjunction with HR departments.
  • Performs Financial Management (10%)
    • Manages and coordinates all aspects of the revenue cycle for Healogics and the hospital partner.
    • Stays current with reimbursement changes and provides updates and education to physicians and staff.
    • Reviews key financial reports, identifies trends, and develops plans to implement best practices for fiscal responsibility.
    • Tracks and reports ancillary revenues generated by the program.
    • Manages costs through appropriate utilization and management of labor and supplies.
    • Completes financial reviews with the Healogics support team and presents results to hospital leadership.
  • Manages Community Education/Marketing functions (40%)
    • Works with hospital and Healogics marketing departments to develop and execute strategic marketing plans aimed at increasing patient referrals.
    • Collaborates with multi-functional teams to identify key target referral sources and build customer relationships.
    • Maintains, monitors, and updates a list of Physician Practices within a given radius of the hospital.
    • Visits Physician Practices to raise awareness of the Wound Care Center program using educational marketing materials.
    • Documents all physician office interactions and visits in the Healogics Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
    • Communicates regularly with leadership regarding goals, targets, and referral development information.
  • Manages Quality/Performance Improvement functions (10%)
    • Implements and manages a continuous Wound Care Center Performance Improvement Program (PIP).
    • Ensures the program is integrated into the partner hospital’s PIP program.
    • Participates in hospital committees and ensures timely and accurate documentation in patient records and outcomes database.
    • Monitors patient, referring physician, and customer satisfaction.
    • Ensures compliance with Patient Safety Guidelines and annual compliance requirements.
  • Manages Relationships (15%)
    • Maintains excellent relationships with hospital clients and aligns program goals with hospital objectives.
    • Works effectively at all levels within the partner hospital and participates in hospital meetings and communication activities.
    • Builds and develops effective working relationships with panel physicians, clinical, and support staff.
    • Encourages excellent customer service among program staff for members of other hospital departments.
    • Meets regularly with leadership, including hospital and area management.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field preferred and 1 year of marketing/community education in the healthcare industry or clinical operations experience, OR
  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field preferred and 2 or more years of marketing/community education in the healthcare industry or clinical operations experience, OR
  • High School Diploma and 4 or more years of marketing/community education in the healthcare industry or clinical operations experience.
  • Management experience preferred.

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory/accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations.

Pay

The salary for this position generally ranges between $83,800.00 and $110,300.00 annually. This range is an estimate based on potential employee qualifications, including education, experience, geography, and operational needs.
