Program Director

About the Role

The Program Director role is located at our Salome Ureña Campus site and is responsible for the management and supervision of SONYC, 21st CCLC, I Challenge Myself, ExpandED, summer camp, and holiday programs, as well as supporting the Community School strategy. We aim to cultivate a strong foundation for success in all participants and the community through innovative social-emotional, academic, family, and wellness services.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and implement quality programming employing youth development principles to support educational and social-emotional needs and build leadership skills.
• Work with the education coordinator to align day-school learning with after-school literacy components.
• Oversee behavioral management to ensure healthy social-emotional development.
• Manage after-school, holiday, and summer camp programs in collaboration with community school partners.
• Meet Youth Division outcomes, objectives, and contractual mandates set by DYCD, DOE, ExpandED Schools, and ICM.
• Ensure program goals align with extended day outcomes related to education, STEM, social-emotional learning, nutrition, arts, youth leadership, and family engagement.
• Develop strategies for youth recruitment, enrollment, and participation.
• Supervise day-to-day program functions and Summer Youth Employment Program participants.
• Obtain licenses for after-school and summer camp programs.
• Maintain confidential client and staff files.
• Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate extended day and summer camp staff.
• Model appropriate child, youth, and adult development practices.
• Coordinate case conferences as needed.
• Develop and implement recruitment plans to meet enrollment and participation requirements.
• Build relationships with school administration, teachers, and parents.
• Establish partnerships with community groups, school administrators, and stakeholders.
• Plan educational trips and staff development activities.
• Organize program calendars, events, and community service projects.
• Perform data input, analysis, and reporting for continuous improvement.
• Complete monthly and quarterly reports for the organization and funders.
• Support special projects and other duties as assigned by the Community School Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Education, Public Administration, or related field (preferred).
• 3-5 years of experience working with youth and/or families in fast-paced community-based programs (after-school programs preferred).

Pay

$66,300 - $68,000 yearly
