Program Director
Beacon is a national behavioral health company providing residential-based services and supports to children and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Severe Mental Illness, Autism, and high-acuity behaviors. About the Role
The Program Director oversees assigned Beacon locations to ensure company goals, budgets, and clinical effectiveness targets are met. They support Care Team Managers by ensuring adequate staffing and resources for high-quality care and keep department heads informed of staffing, compliance, and operational concerns. The Program Director plans and co-chairs monthly staff meetings, ensures consistent application of policies and procedures, monitors Care Team Managers' workload, and reviews incident reports for timely submission to regulatory agencies. They also communicate with regulatory agencies, assist the compliance department with corrective action plans, and manage Census, payroll costs, and EBITDA targets.
Responsibilities
- Integrity
- Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Provide operational oversight to meet company goals, including budget and clinical effectiveness targets.
- Consistently apply and deploy BSLS policies, procedures, and care practices.
- Review incident reports, submit them for approval, and ensure timely submission to regulatory agencies.
- Ensure work injury reports are entered accurately and in a timely manner if needed.
- Maintain secure, confidential, up-to-date, and accurate records for individuals and employees.
- Ensure reporting requirements are met and monitor various plans and quality.
- Perform ongoing audits of location operations, including routine inspections.
- Cooperate with Beacon Specialized Living, the Department of Human Services (DHS) staff, or any other regulatory body during inspections, investigations, or inquiries.
- Compassion
- Support and supervise Care Team Managers to ensure adequate staffing and resources for high-quality care.
- Ensure personal care logs and daily documentation are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Ensure accuracy in medication administration records (EMAR/MAR).
- Ensure individual protection, personal care, and adherence to clinical actions.
- Ensure individuals participate in skill-building and community activities.
- Attend individual functions and maintain regular interaction.
- Assist with individual assessments, placement, transfers, and discharges.
- Advocacy
- Keep department heads informed of staffing, compliance, and operational concerns; collaborate with leadership.
- Communicate with licensing consultants and external agencies to resolve issues.
- Lead responses to investigations and facilitate access to requested information.
- Assist the compliance department with responses, correspondence, and corrective action plans (CAPs).
- Address personnel issues with HR, Compliance, and Executive Leadership.
- Assist staff with navigating the process for training and tuition reimbursement.

- Plan, attend, and co-chair monthly staff meetings, coordinating agendas and ensuring documentation is filed.
- Ensure new employee orientation is completed and monitored.
- Collaborate with Care Team Managers, Recruiters, and Trainers to achieve full staffing.
- Enforce training compliance and provide monthly reports.
- Address personnel issues with HR, Compliance, and Executive Leadership.
- Ensure proper clinical actions are taken to maintain or improve individual health, safety, and stability.

- Manage Census, LOA’s, Per Diem Rates, payroll costs, and EBITDA targets.
- Support Care Team Managers with financial plans/budgets and ensure understanding of budgetary reporting.
- Ensure accurate time-and-attendance reporting by monitoring schedules and actual time worked.
- Manage staffing needs, including interviewing, placement, and training of Care Team Managers.
- Provide feedback to Care Team Managers on semi-annual performance reviews.
- Manage the DSP leveling program and promote it in assigned locations.
- Identify ways to improve programs to enrich individuals' needs and involvement.
- Support the Care Team Manager in all areas to achieve Five Diamond status.
