About the role

The Program Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of the program in accordance with regulatory, contractual requirements, and organizational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors program effectiveness to ensure that the program is achieving its goals and targets as defined by DHS.
  • Manages the program's multi-disciplinary teams and ensures integration of service delivery to families.
  • Ensures program staff implement procedures and policies to maintain quality service provision.

Operations Management

Fiscal

  • Collaborates with the Administrative Manager and/or Director of Administration in developing annual operating budgets.
  • Reviews monthly expense reports and ensures program expenditures are within budgeted parameters.
  • Ensures billing reports are submitted timely and collaborates with the fiscal department to address billing inquiries and corrections.
  • Reviews and approves purchase requisitions, ensuring compliance with organizational procurement procedures.

Facilities

  • Collaborates with the Regional Director of Facilities/Operations to ensure facilities comply with ECB, DOB, FDNY, and other regulations.
  • Ensures the program meets a 95% occupancy rate.
  • Monitors unit work orders and complaints, ensuring timely responses from operations teams.

Metrics & Performance

  • Monitors and analyzes reports and dashboards to ensure the program meets annual goals and targets supporting the organization’s mission and vision.
  • Monitors DHS performance metrics and collaborates with managerial and supervisory staff to develop strategies for compliance.

Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)

  • Leads the implementation of continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Develops systems, processes, and tools to ensure the program meets or exceeds governmental and funder standards.
  • Conducts program audits to ensure compliance with organizational and governmental standards.
  • Collaborates with the Senior Director of Quality Assurance and Program Development to analyze audit findings and establish improvement measures.
  • Leads or participates in CQI projects and committees.

Administrative

  • Submits quality and timely reports to the organization and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

Staff Management & Development

  • Hires, trains, coaches, and supports direct reports.
  • Provides ongoing performance feedback and reviews in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Ensures staff receive required trainings to optimize performance and service delivery.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources to address staff performance issues.
  • Promotes collaboration and effective communication among staff and between departments through interdisciplinary teams.

Community Relations

  • Establishes liaisons with community agencies to maintain service linkages for families.
  • Participates in local community meetings and serves as a liaison with community members and representatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college/university.
  • NYS licensure (LCSW or LMSW) required.
  • Minimum of four years of human services experience, with at least two years of managerial and supervisory experience demonstrating professional progression.
  • Experience with multi-problem families and/or individuals is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, evaluative, and human service management skills.
  • Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.

Other Requirements

  • May be required to work long hours and a varied schedule.
  • Travel throughout various locations in the New York City area.
  • Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 30 pounds several times a week.
