Program Coordinator (MARKETING SPEC 2 CM)
Job Summary
Supports the development and coordination of industry engagement, extension activities, and experiential education programs related to olive production and processing in California. Assists with stakeholder engagement, educational outreach, product marketing, and implementation of extension and research activities aligned with the Center’s mission.
Responsibilities
- 40% - Extension, Industry Engagement, and OLEA 360 Coordination
- 30% - Olive Center Product Marketing and Sales Support
- 15% - Extension, Education, and Research Support
- 15% - Special Project
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, plant sciences, food science, agricultural education, environmental sciences, sustainable agriculture, agricultural business, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience/training.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in agricultural extension, grower outreach, program coordination, educational program support, marketing, communications or related field experience.
- Skills: Experience working effectively with agricultural producers, students, community stakeholders, or industry partners; strong organizational and project coordination skills; effective interpersonal and communication skills; ability to coordinate outreach, educational, and stakeholder engagement activities with professionalism and attention to detail; knowledge of basic agricultural production systems, extension programming, or applied educational activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: Working with olive production, specialty crops, sustainable agriculture, or food and agricultural systems; supporting experiential learning, workforce development, or educational outreach programs; coordinating field-based activities, workshops, or applied extension programs; working in university, nonprofit, agricultural, or research environments; stakeholder communication, partnership development, and program logistics coordination; knowledge of olive production systems, olive oil processing, or specialty crop agriculture; familiarity with extension, outreach, or experiential learning programs within higher education or agricultural settings; product marketing, promotional campaigns, branding, or product launches; familiarity with student engagement or workforce development programs.

The UC Davis Olive Center is a research, education, and outreach center dedicated to advancing the quality, sustainability, and economic viability of the olive industry through independent, science-based research and extension. The Center works closely with growers, processors, researchers, students, and industry stakeholders to support innovation in olive production, processing, quality assurance, workforce development, and consumer education.
