Job Responsibilities

The Eligibility Coach coordinates, plans, and delivers training for Eligibility Enrollment and Member Services (EEMS). Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering training and development plans with instructor-led and online materials.
  • Staying updated on EEMS process and policy changes, and using latest tools, techniques, technology, and resources.
  • Supporting timely and accurate eligibility decisions by delivering training to eligibility workers, supervisors, and administrative staff.
  • Training on Medicaid policies and procedures, and systems.
  • Conducting ongoing training through various methods and providing course assessments.
  • Improving EEMS training processes and materials as needed.
  • Tracking, compiling, and reviewing collected data from trainee surveys, course feedback, and assessments.
  • Following common methodologies and standard training development processes.
  • Attending staff meetings and trainings to stay informed about agency policies and procedures.
  • Serving as a liaison with agencies serving the Medicaid population.
  • Representing Eligibility, Enrollment, and Member Services on various committees and participating in events or projects.
  • Staying current with workflow by processing a minimum of 3 cases per month.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • A High School Diploma and five (5) years of Medicaid Eligibility experience.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered with prior State Human Resources approval.
    • A bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years relevant program experience preferred.
    • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
    • Strong project management and organizational skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement improvements.
    • Knowledge of instructional best practices and adult-learning methods.
    • Good interpersonal skills, including establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
    • Strong communication skills with eligibility staff and all levels of management.
    • Strict adherence to training philosophy, processes, and materials.
    • Certification from talent of training associations a plus.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Knowledge of instructional best practices and adult-learning methods.
    • Good interpersonal skills, including establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
    • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with eligibility staff and all levels of management.
    • Strict adherence to training philosophy, processes, and materials.
    • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement improvements.
    • Certification from talent of training associations a plus.
