Job Responsibilities

Under limited supervision, responsible for casework, court preparation and court attendance for cases in which there is no volunteer Guardian ad Litem appointed. Must operate in accordance with the best practices and policies of the South Carolina Guardian ad Litem Program.

Additional responsibilities to include training and public relations components as the needs of the circuit/county changes.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR).
  • Applicants indicating college credit or degree(s) on the application will be required to bring a copy of college transcript to the interview. A copy of the transcript may also be uploaded as an attachment to the application, if required by the hiring department or if desired by the applicant.
  • Position may require overnight travel.
  • Position may require employee to work evenings, weekends, and during emergency situations.
  • Position requires routine driver duties.
  • Position requires frequent lifting of 25 lbs.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
