This position is in the Vehicle Services / Titles & Registration Research Unit at SCDMV Headquarters in Blythewood, S.C.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all aspects of the assigned work in the work units, including effective planning, issuing, tracking, and monitoring workflow assigned to employees.
- Monitor employees' leave and attendance, ensuring it is entered and approved in SCEIS correctly.
- Report, monitor, and delegate work to employees while maintaining a tracking log of work received and issued.
- Ensure weekly reports are completed on time and accurately.
- Ensure all work is processed within five business days upon receipt.
- Resolve complex problems and answer complex questions related to the department.
- Perform all tasks required of a Titles & Registration Specialist.
- Ensure all employees are cross-trained.
- Interpret laws, policies, and procedures; recommend changes as needed to continuously improve department performance.
- Supervise the screening, interviews, and selection of new employees, including processing planning stages, quarterly, and yearly evaluations of all employees by their due date.
- Mentor, coach, and develop all assigned staff.
- Monitor equipment and inventory of all DMV property.
- Complete and maintain end-of-day reports for financial transactions, including ensuring all employees' monies balance daily and preparing deposits for the bank.
- Ensure all scanned work is turned in daily, along with backouts, line voids, and overrides; must be signed and filed daily.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
- In-depth knowledge of South Carolina vehicle laws and regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of SC DMV policies and regulations, with the ability to use that knowledge to train and mentor Title & Registration Specialists.
- Ability to understand and explain complex DMV policies and procedures to employees and customers, along with in-depth knowledge of the DMV Phoenix system.
- Ability to train, coach, and direct agents for quality control and development.
- Work under general supervision by the Vehicle Research Manager of Titles and Registration, with a moderate amount of independence and discretion.
- Responsible for supervising multiple employees within the department.
- Work in a general office environment.
- May be required to work extended hours outside of the normal scheduled work week.
- Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs.
- May be required to travel to court and meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
A high school diploma and three (3) years of related job experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
