Responsibilities

  • Manage, coordinate, and oversee different programs and projects.
  • Coordinate team meetings with staff and create personal and service plans for each consumer and guardian.
  • Ensure consumer and guardian participation in the development of service plans and personal futures plans.
  • Schedule and chair screenings for program vacancies and develop waiting lists for potential consumer vacancies.
  • Develop and implement service plans within 30 days of moving in, annually, when significant changes occur, and when moving out.
  • Monitor, implement, and supervise the delivery of service plans, personal futures plans, and staff training.
  • Ensure all written training programs are implemented and revised as needed.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor service sites to ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements; implement and coordinate plans of correction from regulatory bodies.
  • Facilitate 1:1 interactions with peers, superiors, and subordinates; foster team spirit and company pride.
  • Monitor quality indicators and achieve results.
  • Use leadership and communication skills to motivate team members toward agency objectives.
  • Document consumer progress or regression; initiate discharge planning if appropriate and maintain records.
  • Maintain fiscal spending within the limits of the approved budget (e.g., household expenses, vehicle expenses, personnel costs).
  • Monitor workers’ compensation and unemployment claims; proactively work to reduce claims and minimize risk/exposure.
  • Monitor all consumer finance documentation.
  • Implement and monitor compliance with the company’s Health and Safety programs.
  • Attend industry functions to promote positive relationships with other providers.
  • Develop positive relationships with all funding sources to promote new business.
  • Utilize problem-solving and mediation skills for employee conflicts.
  • Monitor exit interview results and investigate areas of concern.
  • Manage budgeted staff hours to provide effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Implement staff recruitment and retention programs to promote a positive work environment.
  • Oversee and participate in the hiring process in accordance with company policy and employment law.
  • Actively work toward achieving and maintaining Affirmative Action goals.
  • Ensure all assigned staff receive training and supervision to meet performance expectations.
  • Recognize staff through performance management evaluations, individual development goals, etc.
  • Ensure staff evaluations are conducted fairly and timely.
  • Convey information from upper management to employees as applicable.
  • Share job opportunity listings with employees.
  • Maintain and monitor training reports to ensure timely staff training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business, Health Care Administration, or Social Services. High school diploma or GED equivalent and three years of related job experience may be substituted per area regulations (exceptions require written approval from Regional Management).
  • A minimum of two years of verifiable work experience providing services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • One year of previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in managing systems, processes, and people.
  • Valid driver’s license (in most cases).
