Peabody Resident Services is seeking a part-time Program Coordinator to join the Management team at an apartment community in New Bedford, MA. This role works 12 hours per week.

About the role

The Program Coordinator encourages resident socialization and on-site community meal gatherings within an inclusive environment that fosters purpose, positivity, and wellness for seniors and persons with disabilities. This position collaborates with the Management Team and is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of the on-site Monday–Friday Breakfast Program. The work schedule includes occasional additional hours outside of scheduled activities to coordinate the purchasing of supplies for the program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement the on-site Monday–Friday Breakfast Program.
  • Encourage resident socialization and participation in community meal gatherings.
  • Adapt to on-the-spot changes and challenges with creative solutions.
  • Refresh and update the program regularly to maintain resident engagement and meet expressed interests and needs.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, residents, and community agencies.
  • Organize program logistics, including purchasing supplies.
  • Utilize computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), and learn new applications such as resident newsletter software and required online training modules.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience working or volunteering in a community setting (e.g., senior center, assisted living, rehab, supportive housing, adult clubhouse program) providing or assisting with activities for seniors and/or other special adult populations.
  • Ability to be flexible, spontaneous, and adapt to changes with creative solutions.
  • Warm and intuitive interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn new software and complete required online training modules.

Qualifications

  • Activities coordinator certification and/or related professional training or coursework is a plus.

Pay

$18 per hour.
