Program Coordinator
The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference), a nonprofit organization with offices in New York, Israel, Germany and Austria, secures material compensation for Holocaust survivors around the world. Founded in 1951 by representatives of 23 major international Jewish organizations, the Claims Conference negotiates for and disburses funds to individual survivors and organizations and seeks the return of Jewish property stolen during the Holocaust.
About the role
This role provides administrative and programmatic support with a strong focus on the grants process. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail oriented and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid position with a minimum of two days in the office.
Responsibilities
- Support the application review process and grant administration workflow for Research, Education, and Documentation (RED) projects;
- Ensure accurate and complete data entry in grants management systems;
- Review grant content and documentation for consistency with internal databases and records;
- Monitor grantee compliance with budget submissions and reporting requirements;
- Research, draft, and contribute content for the grantee newsletter;
- Conduct research and compile reports on Holocaust education initiatives and support site visit preparation;
- Collaborate with the RED team and Communications to enhance and maintain the RED section of the Claims Conference website, including regular updates;
- Assist in developing presentations for internal and external audiences;
- Review RED documentation for accuracy in German government reporting;
- Support additional projects and assignments as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree;
- One to two years of work or related experience;
- Areas of study and/or interest in Holocaust studies, history, or non-profit administration;
- Strong research and information-gathering skills;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Ability to multi-task;
- Excellent oral and written communication.

Pay
Our target salary range for Program Coordinators in the New York City market is $50,000-$55,000. This range represents Claims Conference’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s exact location, experience in similar roles, and expertise related to the qualifications.
