Program Chair- Surgical Technology
Position Overview
Athens Technical College seeks a qualified Surgical Technology Program Chair to oversee program development, administration, and evaluation. The position involves managing curriculum design, faculty development, student advising, accreditation maintenance, and external partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Lead and evaluate the Surgical Technology program.
- Oversee curriculum development and implementation.
- Manage student recruitment and enrollment.
- Assess and improve student learning outcomes.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Supervise and develop faculty.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Credentialed in Surgical Technology (NCCA-accredited).
- At least five (5) years of experience as a surgical technologist or instructor (or combination) within the past ten (10) years.
- Experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- Postsecondary teaching experience.
