Position Summary
Program Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Answers WIC phone courteously, directs calls, answers questions, and takes messages.
- Greet and checks-in participants with courtesy and directs participants to appropriate WIC staff.
- Collects basic participant information for eligibility screening.
- Help participants fill out appropriate forms.
- Verifies category, identity, income, residency to determine WIC eligibility.
- Loads WIC benefits for each eligible participant.
- Processes participant proxies for authorized signature.
- Ensures proper documentation has occurred for termination report and pulled charts.
- Distributes surveys to clients to assess program quality.
- Demonstrates flexibility with working at all of the Worcester WIC locations, when needed.
- Ensures participants understand how to use the WIC benefits.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- One year of general office experience is required.
- Experience in a health care setting is preferred.
- Bilingual in English and one of the major languages of the client population is preferred.
