About the role

The Program Assistant will provide administrative support to the Learning Commons, as well as customer service to students and other guests in the Learning Commons. The role includes day-to-day functions such as scheduling resources, answering the phone, circulating books and other resources, coordinating materials for mailings, maintaining program records, generating reports, scheduling meetings and events, and maintaining computer databases.

Responsibilities

  • Greet prospective and current SSS students and direct them to appropriate program personnel.
  • Answer and/or re-direct basic inquiries from internal and external customers via phone calls, email, or in person.
  • Cook up materials for mailings, maintain program records, generate reports, schedule and coordinate meetings and events, and maintain computer databases.
  • Prepare and maintain correspondence, lists, and other documents.
  • Perform various office clerical duties including filing, typing, scanning, maintaining copiers and other equipment, ordering supplies, sorting/distributing mail, etc.
  • Provide clerical support to program staff.
  • Schedule room resources as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year experience using word processing and computer equipment.

Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.

Schedule

The position is available to work between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM Monday – Friday.
