Program Assistant
About the role
The Program Assistant provides clerical and program support to Thrive Wellness Program and the Food Pantry in our Center for Supportive Services. The role assists patients in the THRIVE program with their needs, helps THRIVE Wellness staff facilitate educational and supportive sessions, and supports the Pantry Coordinator with groceries, intakes, inventory, and documentation. The position also performs data entry, front desk support, and administrative duties for the department.
Responsibilities
- Process incoming program referrals and input client demographics, group encounters, and other documentation for patient services through data entry and scheduling of initial appointments.
- Assist staff in facilitating educational and supportive services in both group and individual settings for THRIVE Wellness.
- Schedule and check in patient appointments for intakes, assessments, and programming activities.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Director of Health & Wellness and Health & Wellness Counselor, including maintaining supply orders for the THRIVE Wellness Program.
- Provide direct assistance to the Food Pantry by bagging groceries, disseminating groceries to patients, performing pantry intakes, and organizing inventory and documentation.
- Provide phone support, answer incoming calls, and give phone reminders to patients as needed.
- Input data into applicable database systems for all assigned programs to facilitate accurate tracking and timely reporting.
- Update and maintain client information in various electronic charting and database systems, including Medent.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Health and Wellness, Human Services, or related field.
- One (1) year of experience, preferably in a non-profit setting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise effective time-management skills.
- Familiarity with computers and MS Office software (Outlook, Word).
- Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) in a confidential manner.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations.

This position is posted with a salary range. The actual rate of pay offered will be based on a variety of individualized factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s skills, relevant experience, educational background, internal equity, and market considerations.
