About the role

LMI is seeking a Program and Events Coordinator to provide program and event support to the DoW Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program. This position offers telework with occasional meetings at LMI Headquarters in Tysons Corner, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Full lifecycle event coordination and execution (external and SMART-hosted), including:
    • Pre-event planning and logistics: timelines, vendors, venues, registration, attendee communications, materials, speaker requests and coordination, and event requirements.
    • On-site event execution: primary coordination for vendors, attendees, speakers, and internal stakeholders; troubleshooting issues and keeping the event on schedule.
    • Post-event activities: event breakdown, invoice and budget reconciliation, attendee feedback, reporting, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Research STEM events and conferences; provide recommendations based on potential return on investment, audience demographics, budget, and historical success.
  • Provide information sessions to university partners and students.
  • Develop and produce content for reports and PowerPoint briefs.
  • Support special projects, including:
    • Tracking and coordinating team projects, tasks, timelines, and workflows to ensure priorities and deliverables stay on schedule.
    • Stakeholder engagement and communication: gathering updates, coordinating follow-up, documenting decisions, and communicating project status.
    • Process improvement and project execution: organizing information, monitoring action items, and helping teams stay aligned on priorities and next steps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience with full lifecycle event coordination and execution.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments within DoW and flexibility with outreach tasks.
  • Strong public speaking skills.
  • Experience supporting complex projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in federal government or federal government consulting.
  • Experience using JIRA or ServiceNow.
  • Experience with process improvement.
  • CGMP or CMP certification.

Pay

Target salary range: $85,000–$110,000. Individual salaries are determined by factors including location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.
