The Joint, Office of the Secretary of War, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to customers across the Department of War (DoW), Federal Civilian, and international markets. The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group (ATAG) within JOID specializes in multi-disciplinary analytic support for clients such as the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW (R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSW (A&S)), DARPA, Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA delivers critical decision support to ensure technological superiority and the delivery of secure, resilient capabilities to the warfighter.

About the role

The Program Analyst will provide onsite support at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA, focusing on Joint Staff wargaming and the Wargaming Incentive Fund.

Responsibilities

• Support the Joint Staff/J-8 Studies, Analysis, and Gaming Division (SAGD) on tasks related to Joint Staff wargaming and the Wargaming Incentive Fund, including program assessments, studies, reports, and strategies.
• Assist in administrative planning, conceptual design, execution, and reporting/analysis of wargames, tabletop exercises, and net assessments.
• Serve as the lead for the multi-million-dollar Wargaming Incentive Fund, managing Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs), Purchase Requests, budget forecasting, statistics, Defense Agencies Initiative and G-Invoicing, Dormant Account Review, and TDY traveler management.
• Support the Defense Wargaming Alignment Group (DWAG) and assist with managing and updating the DoW Wargaming Repository.
• Provide subject matter expertise and support for J-8 wargames and tabletop exercises as a Deputy Game Director or Facilitator.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 8+ years of experience with military operations (as a Service member, DoD civilian, or DoD contractor).
• Understanding of the role and value of DoW and Joint Staff wargaming.
• Familiarity with the functions and processes of the Joint Staff.
• Familiarity with DoW financial systems and the Military Interdepartmental Purchase Request (MIPR) process.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Joint Staff, OSD, Service HQ, or CCMD headquarters.
• Prior exposure to wargaming financial workflows, funding lines, or cross-organizational resource coordination.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage recurring financial actions within WIF or similar processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both operational and financial stakeholders.
• Demonstrated proficiency with standard DoD administrative and coordination tools (e.g., trackers, task management, correspondence processes).

Pay

Salary range: USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $140,000.00/Yr.
