About the role
This position is located in the Core Training Operations Directorate (CTO) under the Office of the Associate Director for Training Operations (TOPS) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) in Glynco, Georgia. The primary purpose is to provide substantial administrative and analytical support to the division, division chief, and management team.
Responsibilities
- Perform various complex, time-sensitive, and recurring duties or projects assigned by the division chief.
- Maintain contact with other CTO organizational elements, Partner Organizations (PO), FLETC staff, or other Federal government agencies.
- Cooperate with private sector or local communities to share organizational information and report those contacts and activities to CTO headquarters.
- Evaluate a variety of administrative documentation critical for the overall management and coordination of daily activities within a division.
- Assist divisional management staff with developing briefings, talking points, synopses, and presentations with minimal notice, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
- Develop procedures and checklists for operating media equipment and educate staff on proper operating procedures or assist when necessary.
- Screen all correspondence to ensure supporting materials are included and compliance with established procedures.
- Utilize various systems to control and access office records, files, and other documentation (hard copy/electronic) according to policy regarding maintenance and disposition.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.

- Must successfully pass a background investigation.
- This is a bargaining unit covered position, represented under the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU).
- Must set up direct deposit for payment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license to conduct official government business.
- Resume must be no more than two pages in length.
Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-09 grade level if you possess one of the following:
- One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in Federal service, demonstrating the ability to:
- Develop data from a variety of sources including reports, memorandums, meetings, discussions, and notes.
- Review, analyze, and edit memorandums, directives, manuals, standard operating procedures (SOP), and correspondence.
- A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
- A combination of successfully completed graduate-level education and specialized experience as described above that, when combined, equal 100% of the total requirement. Only graduate education in excess of the first year may be used to qualify for the GS-09 level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Applicants must submit a copy of their college transcript (unofficial is acceptable) from an accredited institution listing the college/university, degree confirmation date(s), and applicable courses for the position. If using foreign education to meet qualification requirements, a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency must be provided with the transcript.

- Permanent Change of Station (PCS) is not authorized.
- The work is basically sedentary with occasional requirements to lift/move objects (supplies) weighing up to twenty (20) pounds.
- The work is primarily performed in an environmentally controlled office setting, with frequent interruptions and sometimes stress-inducing time/workload demands.
- FLETC is committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace and conducts random and other drug testing of its employees. All applicants tentatively selected for employment at FLETC are subject to drug testing resulting in a negative test result.
- All selected applicants must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation for suitability as a condition of placement in this non-sensitive, moderate-risk position.
