Hamlin Robinson School (HRS) ignites the academic and creative potential of students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Since 1983, we have been Washington’s only non-profit school dedicated exclusively to these students’ unique academic and social-emotional needs. With small class sizes (1:15 teacher-student ratio) and a structured, multisensory approach, students gain confidence and a sense of ownership over their learning through meaningful moments of authentic success.

Who You Are

  • You have experience working with children, knowledge about child development, and possess strong conflict resolution skills.
  • You are collaborative, resilient, diplomatic, flexible, confident, patient, possess a sense of humor and a professional presence.
  • You maintain enthusiasm, composure, and remain cheerful - even on those tough days.
  • You have a passion for athletics and the role that sports & strategy can play in a child's development.
  • You take initiative, and welcome ownership of new programs and ideas.
  • You have a bachelor's degree.
  • You feel comfortable using Google Suite. Experience in technology classrooms or tech support is a plus.
  • You feel comfortable with a mic in your hand.
  • You can work collaboratively and independently in various levels of a school environment.
  • You have excellent communication skills.
  • You love to innovate, connect with community, and build relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee students during all outdoor time: morning drop-off, all recesses, afternoon Extended Day and various Athletics programs
  • Manage HRS Athletics Coach / Asst. Coach roster
  • Coordinate the acquisition and distribution of all HRS Athletics uniforms and seasonal supplies
  • Coordinate HRS involvement and membership in alternative (non-CYO) leagues
  • Supervise the sign-out and release of students to parents/caregivers during Extended Day, while fostering an engaged and enthusiastic rapport with families
  • Interact with general public in a positive and warm manner when answering phone calls and stepping in to cover and manage the Front Desk
  • Supervise and direct students during lunch periods, assemblies, and bus loading as needed
  • Assist with clerical/administrative tasks as needed, like lamination
  • Attend and participate in school events
  • Prepare rooms/assembly areas for special projects, activities, and events as needed

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $25 - $29 per hour
  • Position Classification: Non-Exempt
  • Benefits: 93% employee covered Medical, Dental and Vision. 403(b) (up to 7% employer match), Life Insurance, Pet Insurance, and Long-Term Disability. Earn up to 10 Sick/Personal days.
