Program Aide
Position Summary
The Salvation Army Northwoods Camp in Finlayson, MN, provides summer camp opportunities to hundreds of youth from Salvation Army programs across Minnesota and North Dakota. The camp offers a safe, fun environment for youth to develop physically, socially, and spiritually through various activities.
About the Role
This role supports camp programs, monitors camper safety, maintains equipment, assists with meal service, fosters positive relationships, and encourages camper behavior. The position requires on-site residence throughout the summer.
Responsibilities
- Support Camp Programs (20%): Actively participate in all assigned camp programs and activities, contributing to a positive and engaging experience for all campers.
- Safety and Observation (20%): Monitor campers and program areas for health and safety concerns, reporting any issues promptly to ensure a safe environment.
- Maintain Equipment (20%): Check and prepare program equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and readily available.
- Meal Assistance (15%): Assist kitchen staff with meal service, including setup, serving, and cleanup, to ensure efficient and timely meal operations.
- Build Positive Relationships (10%): Foster a positive rapport with campers and colleagues, promoting a supportive and inclusive camp atmosphere.
- Camper Behavior Support (10%): Encourage campers' compliance with rules and expectations. Participate in Spiritual Activities (5%): Attend and actively engage in all designated spiritual activities and devotions as part of the camp program.
Requirements
- Must be at least 15 years of age.
- Experience working with children preferred.
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be willing to participate in religious activities.
- Must pass the vetting process (e.g., background checks, reference checks) per policy.

Benefits
Room and board provided in addition to a biweekly stipend. The position is seasonal, approximately mid-June through July, including nights and weekends.
