About the role
The Program Advisor provides academic advising, registration assistance, and guidance on accessing and navigating institutional requirements to current students. This role also includes career advising, retention and completion initiatives, and updating transfer plans for partner universities.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic advising, registration assistance, and support in navigating institutional requirements.
- Offer career advising to help students choose a career pathway.
- Plan and implement retention and completion activities.
- Update transfer plans for transfer universities.
- Collaborate with the Program Advisor Coordinator to plan, implement, and evaluate programs and services offered by the Advising, Career & Transfer department.
- Assist with graduation application processes and commencement activities.
- Serve as a liaison and build intentional relationships with other advisors, offices, and departments.
- Maintain processes and systems to improve the quality of customer support services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
- Personal computer literacy and strong organizational skills.
- Outstanding communication, critical thinking, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt to new tasks and software requirements.
- Functional knowledge and use of Banner and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or training in education, teaching, academic advising, recruiting, sales, customer service, marketing, or public relations—preferably at the community college level.
- Banner experience.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Schedule
This position has limited opportunity for remote work arrangements with appropriate approvals and in accordance with college policies, procedures, and needs.
Pay
Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year (Salary Grade: 110).
