Location
This position is located at the Lake Erie Correctional Institution. Additional work locations include the DRC Central Office in Ashtabula (Conneaut, Ashtabula County, Ohio) and a secondary site in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Organize, plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive monitoring program of contract healthcare services within Lake Erie Correctional Institution and the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center.
- Ensure services delivered meet applicable ODRC policy, protocol, standards, directives, and/or court orders.
- Monitor and evaluate healthcare processes, continuous quality improvement/quality assurance activities, staffing expectations, and fulfillment.
- Conduct critical review of major healthcare occurrences, credentials monitoring, and clinical competence monitoring.
- Evaluate generated data and report findings to institution staff.
- Serve as the designated ODRC contract monitor and liaison for the Office of Correctional Healthcare administration.
- Assess contractor‑planned remediation action plans for identified findings and provide feedback to all parties involved.
- Monitor healthcare services compliance with state and federal regulations, standards, and court orders, and report findings.
- Investigate and respond to inquiries about healthcare concerns from internal and external stakeholders as directed during contract monitoring.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Ohio (Board of Nursing, §4723.03 Ohio Revised Code).
- Five (5) years of training or experience in business administration, management, or public administration; or completion of an undergraduate core program in one of those fields with 36 months of training or experience in a supervisory, administrative, or managerial position.
- Completion of an undergraduate core program in a field commensurate with the assigned program area, plus 36 months of training or experience in a supervisory, administrative, managerial, or staff role involving planning, research, or policy/procedure development.
- One (1) year of experience as a Program Administrator (Series 2, 63123) or equivalent qualifications meeting the minimum class requirements.
