Profit Center Manager
Hajoca Corporation is one of the country's largest privately-held wholesale distributors of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies. We operate in a decentralized environment where each Profit Center (PC) functions like a small business, offering a customized approach tailored to local market needs. McDonald Supply, a Hajoca trade name, is seeking a Profit Center Manager for its Waterloo, IA location.
About the Role
Plan, direct, and lead all business operations at the Profit Center, ensuring consistent profitability. This role involves:
- Achieving sales, gross profit, market share, and profit-sharing goals through team recruitment, development, training, coaching, evaluation, and management.
- Setting clear performance expectations and goals for teammates, conducting regular evaluations, and providing feedback.
- Determining targeted customer account potential, establishing sales goals, and holding salespeople accountable for achieving them.
- Driving upper-quartile performance in key indicators: Gross Profit %, Net Salaries Ratio, Occupancy Ratio, Return on Investment, Gross Profit per Employee, and Profit Sharing per Employee.
- Analyzing financial reports and implementing strategies to increase sales, improve productivity, and manage expenses and assets.
- Ensuring the Profit Center meets or exceeds customer service expectations.
- Building community relationships to understand the marketplace, increase market share, and identify new markets.
- Maintaining a safe working environment and safeguarding all Profit Center assets, including buildings, fleet, equipment, inventory, and receivables.
- Completing required safety and compliance training programs.
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of sales and service experience.
- 1+ year of leadership experience.
- Product knowledge related to the specific Profit Center market (preferred).
- Ability to drive for company business, requiring:
- A valid driver’s license.
- A driving record that meets Company policy criteria for an Authorized Driver.
