Professor of Practice - Government and Legal Studies
About the role
The Department of Political Science at the University of Houston invites applications for a non-tenure track Professor of Practice in Government and Legal Studies. This is a 9-month faculty appointment with primary responsibilities in undergraduate teaching and pre-law advising. The successful candidate will contribute to instructional excellence and carry a 5/5 course load. Candidate will also serve as the pre-Law advisor for students preparing law school and legal and policy careers.
Responsibilities

- Serve as the pre-Law advisor for students preparing law school and legal and policy careers.
Requirements
- Possess a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Substantial experience teaching and mentoring students about law and policy.
- Current knowledge of law school application processes and trends.
- Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and student mentoring.
