Professional Structural Engineer - Development

POSITION INFORMATION

DGL is looking for an experienced civil/structural engineer to join their Development Division. This role requires coordination across multiple disciplines.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as engineer of record in responsible charge of structural projects.
• Perform and oversee structural design and plan production.
• Work closely with and instruct staff engineers and CAD technicians to prepare drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with outside engineers and architects on project requirements.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and respond to other construction questions.
• Engage in meetings with clients and technical organizations to develop relationships and business opportunities.

Skill Set

• Experience in structural steel, reinforced and unreinforced concrete, and in load bearing and non-load bearing masonry design.
• Recent experience with building codes and structural standards/regulations.
• Current experience with STAAD, RISA 3D, or RAM Elements (RAM Elements preferred).
• Experience with AutoCAD required; experience with Revit preferred.
• Must be well organized and maintain proficient time management.
• Must conduct themselves with a professional demeanor.
• Able to communicate effectively with all types of people.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Some tasks may require travel to complete.
