Professional Structural Engineer - Development

POSITION INFORMATION

DGL is looking for an experienced civil/structural engineer to join their Development Division. This role requires coordination across multiple disciplines and excellent communication skills.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as engineer of record for structural projects, overseeing design and plan production.
• Work closely with and instruct staff engineers and CAD technicians to produce drawings and specifications.
• Maintain communications and project expectations with clients throughout the design and construction phases.
• Coordinate with external engineers and architects to ensure project requirements are met.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and address construction-related inquiries.
• Provide input and collaborate on improving DGL's standards and procedures.
• Engage in meetings with clients and technical organizations to foster business relationships.

Skill Set

• Experience in structural steel, reinforced and unreinforced concrete, and masonry design.
• Recent experience with building codes and structural standards/regulations.
• Current experience with STAAD, RISA 3D, or RAM Elements (preferred).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, with Revit experience a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• A professional demeanor and effective communication skills.
• A valid driver’s license, with some travel required.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Ohio.
