PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Professional Engineer – Air Systems/Pneumatics to support a leading name in the aviation industry. In this high-impact consulting role, you’ll help design, integrate, and validate critical pneumatic systems that keep modern aircraft operating safely and efficiently.

About the role

Full-Time Consultant (12-month assignment) with a hybrid work model (2–3 days onsite). Locations: Montreal, Toronto, or service centers in Wichita, Hartford, Dallas, Opa Locka (FL), Tucson.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a systems engineer specializing in pneumatic systems
  • Define system architecture, specifications, and requirements
  • Lead integration and interface management across internal teams and suppliers
  • Perform functional modeling, trade studies, and system performance analysis
  • Ensure requirements validation, verification, and certification compliance
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables (designs, test procedures, qualification and certification documents)
  • Document technical analysis, ground and flight test results
  • Support development and operation of test rigs and flight test platforms
  • Troubleshoot system issues and support production and in-service operations
  • Prepare design changes and optimization solutions
  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
  • Contribute to knowledge systems and engineering processes
  • Manage technical relationships with suppliers
  • Ensure adherence to program schedules and milestones

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 5–8 years of experience in an aerospace engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of fluid flow and thermodynamics
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with pneumatic systems and system integration disciplines
  • Experience with component qualification standards (DO-160, MIL-STD-810)
  • Knowledge of Design Assurance processes (ARP4754A)
  • Experience in system modeling and performance testing
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work both technically and within project management contexts
  • Willingness to travel for short assignments
  • Bilingual (French & English)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Model-Based Engineering or simulation tools
  • Background working with cross-disciplinary aircraft systems (avionics, powerplant, installation)
  • Demonstrated collaboration in high-performing engineering teams

Pay

Starting at $81.46 per hour.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, hybrid (2–3 days onsite).
