Professional Engineer - Investigative

About the role

Martin/Martin is seeking a mid-level structural engineer to join our rapidly growing Investigative Engineering Group in our San Mateo, California office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform investigations with in-house staff and clients
• Engage with clients and contractors as primary point of contact throughout the project life cycle
• Manage and collaborate with engineering and technician staff to produce high-quality project documentation using computer design and graphics software programs
• Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets
• Build lasting relationships with clients through project work and business development activities
• Develop design recommendations for projects
• Assemble construction drawings, write and edit specifications, and follow project specific QA/QC plans

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
• Completed 4 years progressive engineering experience
• Eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
• Ability to work in the San Mateo area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function
• Exhibits effective communication and technical skills

Desired

• Master's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum
• Completed 6-8 years progressive engineering experience
• Followed multiple engineering projects from start of design to completion of construction
• Demonstrates a strong desire for continued professional development
• Participating member of professional and/or technical societies

Working Conditions, Skills, and Abilities

• Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites

Compensation

• Base Salary: For individuals hired in California, a reasonable estimate of the current range for this role is $113,000 to $138,000 annually. This is a salaried position with accrued time eligibility.
• Accrued Time: Accrued time allows additional compensation or time-off to be earned for any eligible hours worked exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Base Salary Review: This role is eligible to participate in Martin/Martin’s annual base salary increase review process.
• Annual Bonus: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program.
