About the role

Martin/Martin is seeking a mid-level structural engineer to join our Investigative Engineering Group in San Mateo, CA. Our team specializes in developing and managing engineering services for the renovation, restoration, retrofit, and repair of existing structures.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform investigations with in-house staff and clients
  • Engage with clients and contractors as primary point of contact throughout the project life cycle
  • Manage and collaborate with engineering and technician staff to produce high-quality project documentation using computer design and graphics software programs
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets
  • Build lasting relationships with clients through project work and business development activities
  • Develop design recommendations for projects
  • Assemble construction drawings, write and edit specifications, and follow project specific QA/QC plans

Requirements

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum, Registered Professional Engineer (PE), 4 years progressive engineering experience, eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Desired: Master's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum, 6-8 years progressive engineering experience, demonstrated desire for continued professional development, participating member of professional and/or technical societies

  • Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
  • Remain stationary for long periods of time

  • Determine and exchange accurate information
  • Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions

  • Primarily technical in nature

Compensation

  • Base Salary: For individuals hired in California, a reasonable estimate of the current range for this role is $113,000 to $138,000 annually
  • Accrued Time: Accrued time allows additional compensation or time-off to be earned for any eligible hours worked exceeding 40 hours per week
  • Annual Bonus: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program
