About the role
Martin/Martin is seeking a mid-level structural engineer to join our rapidly growing Investigative Engineering Group in our Larkspur, California office.
Responsibilities
- Cook up and perform investigations with in-house staff and clients
- Engage with clients and contractors as primary point of contact throughout the project life cycle
- Manage and collaborate with engineering and technician staff to produce high-quality project documentation using computer design and graphics software programs
- Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets
- Build lasting relationships with clients through project work and business development activities
- Develop design recommendations for projects
- Assemble construction drawings, write and edit specifications, and follow project specific QA/QC plans
Requirements
- Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum, completed 4 years progressive engineering experience, registered Professional Engineer (PE)
- Desired: Master's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum, completed 6-8 years progressive engineering experience, followed multiple engineering projects from start of design to completion of construction, demonstrates a strong desire for continued professional development, participating member of professional and/or technical societies
Skills and Abilities
- Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
- Remain stationary for long periods of time
- Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse
- Carry, ascend, and descend a ladder

- Read, communicate, and document in English
- Determine and exchange accurate information
- Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Working Conditions
- Positions self in atypical environments and small, confined spaces
Compensation
- Base Salary: For individuals hired in California, a reasonable estimate of the current range for this role is $113,000 to $138,000 annually
- Accrued Time: This is a salaried position with accrued time eligibility. Accrued time allows additional compensation or time-off to be earned for any eligible hours worked exceeding 40 hours per week
- Base Salary Review: This role is eligible to participate in Martin/Martin’s annual base salary increase review process
- Anual Bonus: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program
