Professional Development Specialist (Per Diem)

About the role

Per diem Professional Development Specialist positions for the 2026-2027 school year. Hours vary based on school needs and are not guaranteed. Positions are available in multiple Florida counties with varying focuses:

• Miami (PD Specialist/Coach + Leadership Coach)
• Palm Beach County (PD Specialist)
• Orange County (PD Specialist + Leadership Coach)
• Columbia County (PD Specialist)
• Hillsborough County (PD Specialist)
• Brevard County (PD Specialist)

Skills needed include experience in elementary, middle, or high school settings with backgrounds in math, science, STEM, or ELA.

Responsibilities

• Host dynamic and collaborative planning conferences for educators
• Provide one-on-one coaching, training, and mentoring for teachers
• Develop and demonstrate creative example lessons
• Lead interactive professional development workshops
• Research and demonstrate instructional strategies
• Foster active participation and open discussions among educators
• Ensure successful completion of all educator development activities
• Provide required report documentation
• Maintain active communication with directors regarding activities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (master’s degree preferred)
• Experience teaching math, literacy, science, or other relevant curriculum
• Valid Florida teaching certificate required
• 5 years of experience delivering professional development workshops to adult educators
• 5 years of experience coaching teachers and/or school leaders (cognitively, instructionally, or in a specific content area)
• Excellent communication skills
• Microsoft Office experience
