Professional Development Specialist (Per Diem)

About the role

Professional Development Per Diem positions are available for the 2026-2027 school year. Schedules vary based on individual school needs, and a minimum number of hours is not guaranteed. Positions require skills in elementary, middle, or high school experience, with backgrounds in math, science, STEM, or ELA.

• Palm Beach County: PD Specialist
• Orange County: PD Specialist + Leadership Coach
• Columbia County: PD Specialist
• Hillsborough County: PD Specialist
• Brevard County: PD Specialist

Responsibilities

• Host dynamic and collaborative planning conferences to unleash the creative potential of educators.
• Coach, train, and mentor teachers individually or one-on-one.
• Craft creative example lessons that captivate students.
• Lead interactive professional development workshops as needed.
• Research and demonstrate instructional strategies.
• Foster a culture of active participation and vibrant open discussions.
• Ensure all educator development is completed successfully.
• Provide report documentation as required.
• Communicate actively with directors regarding activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
• Experience teaching math, literacy, science, or other relevant curriculum.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate required.
• 5 years of experience delivering professional development workshops to adult educators.
• 5 years of experience coaching teachers and/or school leaders cognitively, instructionally, or within a specific content-area focus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Microsoft Office experience.
