Professional Development Specialist (Per Diem)

About the role

Professional Development Per Diem positions for the 2026-2027 school year. Hours vary and are not guaranteed. Schedules depend on individual school needs. Positions are available in the following locations and roles:

• Miami: PD Specialist/Coach + Leadership Coach
• Palm Beach County: PD Specialist
• Orange County: PD Specialist + Leadership Coach
• Columbia County: PD Specialist
• Hillsborough County: PD Specialist
• Brevard County: PD Specialist

Skills needed include experience in elementary or middle/high school settings, with backgrounds in math, science, STEM, or ELA.

Responsibilities

• Host dynamic and collaborative planning conferences that unleash the creative potential of educators.
• Coach, train, and mentor teachers individually or one-on-one.
• Craft creative example lessons that captivate students.
• Lead interactive professional development workshops when needed.
• Research and demonstrate instructional strategies.
• Foster a culture of active participation and vibrant open discussions.
• Ensure all educator development is completed successfully.
• Provide report documentation as required.
• Communicate actively with directors regarding activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (master’s degree preferred).
• Experience teaching math, literacy, science, or other relevant curriculum.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate required.
• 5 years of experience delivering professional development workshops to adult educators.
• 5 years of experience coaching teachers and/or school leaders either cognitively, instructionally, or within a specific content-area focus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Microsoft Office experience.
