This position can be based in any of our offices: Downtown Los Angeles, Century City, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York, Orange County, Downtown San Diego, Del Mar, Silicon Valley, San Francisco, or Washington, DC.

About the role

The Professional Development Specialist will work with members of the Talent Management and Human Resources team to support the planning, coordination, and execution of attorney professional development programs and initiatives. This role provides operational, administrative, and project support across all facets of attorney development, including training, evaluations, mentoring, and career advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Professional Development Team to support the strategic goals and day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Coordinate the firm's attorney evaluation and partner promotion processes, including managing timelines, tracking progress, maintaining related documentation, and preparing reports and summaries as needed.
  • Manage professional development data, including mentoring program participation, attorney headcount, attrition, and other key metrics.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support attorney professional development academies, workshops, and other learning initiatives, including logistics, communications, and program evaluations.
  • Process, reconcile, and track department expense reports, invoices, and other financial documentation in accordance with firm policies.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for attorney personnel meetings; draft meeting invitations, agendas, and related communications.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools and technologies to enhance productivity, streamline administrative processes, support data analysis, and improve the delivery of professional development programs.
  • Provide administrative and project support for department initiatives and perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional development experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Law firm experience.
  • Experience with viDesktop, Monday.com, and AI software.

Work Environment

  • Working indoors with limited exposure to hazards (only those that customarily come up in working in a high-rise/office building).
  • Indoor office work environment in a cubicle or similar workstation.
  • After-hours and weekend work will be required on occasion as workload or conferences demand.
  • Travel to academies and conferences when required.

Pay

  • California: $49.00 - $59.00 per hour.
  • Illinois: $52.00 - $63.00 per hour.
  • Washington DC: $49.00 - $59.00 per hour.
  • New York: $52.00 - $63.00 per hour.
  • This position is eligible for bonuses.
