Join our team of dedicated behavioral health professionals and lead a group of committed counselors in providing compassionate, evidence-based addiction recovery services.
Job Duties
- Provide direct clinical assessment, counseling, and treatment services to individuals with substance use disorders using evidence-based practices.
- Serve as a supervisor and support clinical staff by reviewing cases, providing clinical consultation, developing specialized intervention skills, and ensuring compliance with agency policies, licensing requirements, and professional standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, monitor staff performance, conduct performance evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching and professional development.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings to coordinate client care and promote positive treatment outcomes.
- Offer crisis intervention and support to clients and their families in person and by telephone, as needed.
- Conduct random urine drug screenings in accordance with agency policies and established protocols.
- Supervise counselors pursuing LPC licensure, when qualified and approved.
- Prepare reports, provide expert testimony in court proceedings when required, and develop program goals, policies, procedures, and treatment initiatives that support effective addiction recovery services and continuous quality improvement.
- Engage in community outreach, prevention, and education activities to promote awareness of substance use prevention and available treatment services.
- Ensure services are delivered in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, and agency policies.
Position-Specific Details
- Appointment Type: Probational Appointment.
- Location: Capital Area Human Services District's Addiction Recovery Services (ARS).
- Work Schedule: 9 hours per day Monday - Thursday, and 4 hours on Friday.
- Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The maximum salary for the Professional Counselor 5 is $92,102.00 annually.
