Responsibilities
- Completes intakes, assessments, screenings, and histories to establish baseline of mental health care for all residential clients.
- Creates and manages treatment plans for each client.
- Oversees and stewards the mental health and wellbeing of all clients through regularly scheduled counseling sessions.
- Provides impromptu counseling, crisis intervention and de-escalation, as needed.
- Aids clients in moving from deficit focus to cultivating and utilizing strengths and resilience in the face of challenges.
- Learns and leads trainings on a weekly basis with clients; leads trauma-informed trainings for staff.
- Participates in on-call rotation for residential program.
- Actively participates on a multidisciplinary team and provides guidance and support to the team in decision-making.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master's in counseling or social work from an accredited college.
- Holds or working towards an LPC license and a minimum of 2 years of experience in individual and group counseling with traumatized individuals/abuse, substance abuse, victims of crime, women in crisis, at-risk youth, domestic violence or similar population.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Skilled in leading effective counseling groups and staff training.
- Leader with trauma responsive programming.
- Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly trainable and flexible.
