About the role
This position supports a multiple shift, safety-minded environment that utilizes operating procedures to ensure quality, production, and delivery goals for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Operates a power-driven winding machine to wind generally larger coils for power transformers – quality standards are critical in nature;
- Sets up assigned work to meet specification;
- Exercises sound judgment based on knowledge of accepted methods and procedures and questions all deviation from specifications with supervisor;
- Follows safe work guidelines and procedures;
- Participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Completion of High School, or GED;
- Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions from blueprints and engineering drawings;
- Knowledge of methods, practices, techniques, terms, definitions, and standards required in the manufacture of transformers;
- Knowledge of copper and aluminum welding – gas & TIG;
- Experience with metal forming, and/or assembly, with experience specific to the transformer industry considered an asset;
- Willingness to work 1st shift (Monday – Friday 8 hour shifts).
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent;
- Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions;
- Knowledge of transformer manufacturing processes;
- Experience with metal forming and/or assembly;
