Production Worker on Second Shift

Responsibilities

  • Perform processes to complete bottle-filling assemblies and sub-assembly machines
  • Follow written instructions on the work order for the production of various products
  • Gather raw materials needed for producing products, help set up the production lines, and produce samples for quality inspection
  • Upon inspection approval, produce product, label, pack, and load grouped orders onto pallets
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required
  • Complete tasks as directed by production schedules with minimum supervision
  • Utilize all material handling equipment safely, and efficiently, perform all required safety checks, and communicate the need for repairs
  • Package bulk material as required by a work order
  • Accept schedule and direction when there are changes in workloads
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

  • Must have a good command of the English language and the ability to read, communicate, and understand written instructions
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems on the production line as they occur
  • Understand KPMs and manufacturing packaging line processes
  • Understand General Quality & Safety Awareness
  • Understand Lean Principles
  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Basic mathematical abilities
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Inventory Management System (JDE) knowledge

  • High School Diploma or GED

Pay

Hourly, Full-time (2nd shift), Monday-Thursday, 3:00 pm - 1:30 am, occasionally overtime on Fridays

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Ability to lift/carry up to 70 pounds occasionally and push/pull drums weighing up to 400 lbs. occasionally
  • Stand, walk, and climb staircases frequently
  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations
  • Subject to flexible hours or weekends, as business needs dictate

Working Environment

  • Work performed in a warehouse environment and extreme heat (>80 degrees) during summer months
  • May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shift from one station to another, during the production process
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety eye glasses and safety steel-toe shoes are required
  • Work hazards – Safety concerns to include heavy products, light and heavy-duty machinery, forklifts, working in a congested and high activity warehouse
