Full-time hourly position located in Indianapolis, IN 46268.
About the role
We are looking for motivated individuals capable of performing a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced production environment. As a Production Worker, you will receive training on all aspects of your job and have opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety rules and practices, including the lockout/tagout program on each piece of machinery you are qualified to operate.
- Operate production machinery and touch screen controls to monitor the production process.
- Interface with a computer to enter data into various software platforms (such as work orders or other plant metrics).
- Read factory work orders, product spec sheets, and other documents to learn customer requirements.
- Perform consistent quality and count inspection of products, including identifying and segregating nonconforming (reject/scrap) products and materials, and documenting and reporting all quality assurance checks as instructed.
- Safely operate a forklift to load/unload production lines, transport and stage materials (pallets, endclosures, PVA), or assist with shipping as needed.
- Accurately complete time sheets, reports, lists, and other records.
- Regularly perform scheduled operator preventative maintenance and general housekeeping responsibilities.
Requirements
- High school degree or GED (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
- Prior experience in the corrugated manufacturing industry or food manufacturing industry highly preferred.
- Stable work history and good attendance record.
Skills
- Proven track record in safety and quality.
- Solid mechanical aptitude.
- Attention to detail and a focus on producing quality product.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to learn, including cross-training and filling in other positions as needed.
- Professional attitude and good communication skills.
Pay
Starting rate: $22.63/hr. After 90-day probation, hourly rate increases between $23.67/hr up to $27.42/hr.
